Declaration of Public Utility and Social Interest - DUPIS

The declarations of public utility and social interest (DUPIS) consist of an administrative act that determines the Public Utility and Social Interest status of a plan, project or execution of works for the generation, transmission and distribution of electric energy, aqueducts, irrigation, regulation of rivers and flow, as well as the areas affected by the above.

The following norms and regulations are related to the Declaration of Public Utility and Social Interest (DUPIS).

  • Resolution 296 of October 01st of 2014, which declares the public utility and social interest of the lands necessary for the construction of the Small Hydroelectric Power Plant Project Cantayús and enacts other regulations (in Spanish).
  • Decree 2444 of November 05th of 2013, which regulates Articles 9 and 17 of Law 56 of1981 and enacts other regulations (in Spanish).
  • Procedures for Declarations of Public Utility and Social Interest, whose objective is the drafting of the administrative act that declares the public utility and social interest of the projects and necessary lands for the execution of works for the provision of electric energy public service; as well as indicating the entity that is the owner and has the power to issue the administrative act that decrees expropriation (in Spanish)
